Matt is a subject matter expert on energy, utilities, and sustainable practices. He applies his engineering background to break down complex technical concepts so all audiences can understand and digest them. Matt has spent a decade as a consultant, advising the U.S. Department of Energy on energy efficiency projects, generation data surveys, and public-facing reports. More recently, Matt launched the Chester Energy and Policy blog to use research and data to answer pressing questions regarding energy and sustainability, in which authoritative answers were not yet available.
Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at the University of Virginia and minored in both science and technology policy and civil engineering.
